Mosamaria Aids Ministries

Mosamaria was started in 2003 as part of the response to the call by Archbishop Njongonkulu Ndungane of the Anglican Province of Southern Africa, for the Anglican Church to respond in some meaningful way to the Pandemic of HIV/AIDS which was and still is devastating Sub-Saharan Africa. Initially, all the Anglican churches in the Diocese of the Free State were mobilized to start talking openly about HIV/AIDS to try to address the stigma surrounding the disease and to reassure all people that HIV was not a punishment from God. In 2005 the Free State Anglican Diocese generously awarded R700,000 to the ministry which was used to start different projects.
