CREATE is a non-profit organisation (NPO) based in Pietermaritzburg, the capital of KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa. The focus is on advocacy for disability rights and community based rehabilitation (CBR) in its broadest sense. The work is with disabled people’s organisations (DPOs), groups of parents with children with disabilities, groups of youth with disabilities, and includes engagement with communities, municipalities and government departments as well as other NPOs and businesses. CREATE has expertise in training and advocacy work to facilitate the participation and inclusion of people with disabilities in society. The staff are skilled at developing participatory training courses supported with interactive materials for participants at a variety of literacy levels in both English and isiZulu.
